New York Shopping

Suiteness Logo

The only place to book connecting hotel rooms and suites. Here's how.

From small, independent and high-end boutiques to essentially all major luxury department stores, and down to warehouse stores, flea markets, and thrift stores, New York offers some of the best retail therapy you'll ever see. And you'd expect nothing more from one of the fashion capitals of the world.

Best Places to Shop in New York

Fifth Avenue | Midtown East

Synonymous with wealth, high fashion and extravagance, Fifth Avenue is one of the most famous shopping destinations in the world. Starting on 54th street and running all the way to 14th, you'll encounter rows of Manhattan's flagship stores: Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Saks, Hermes and more. Fifth avenue is an international landmark and worth a visit, if not to shop then, for some time-honored window shopping before tea at the Plaza or ice-skating at the Rockefeller.

Madison Avenue | Midtown East

The stretch of Madison Avenue between East 57th and East 72nd streets plays host to some of the most elegant stores in New York City. With exclusively high-end retailers like Bergdorf Goodman, Calvin Klein, and Chanel, the superb luxury of Madison Avenue is a sight. And of course, you'll find more plenty of shopping options to choose from. There is no lack of designer wears and premium fashion on Madison Ave.

Chelsea Market | Chelsea

Attracting roughly six million visitors a year, Chelsea Market isn't much of a hard sell. We already mentioned the show-stopping food hall and thought we'd also take note of its shopping mall. Packed with exclusive collections, the stores here are less about market brands and more about unique designer finds.

Shops in SoHo | SoHo

A veritable cornucopia of New York's fashion-forward elitism, the cobblestoned streets of SoHo give way to a milieu of retail stores with everything from Club Monaco, Kate Spade, and Zara to designer boutiques and retail giants like Bloomingdales. SoHo is a fashion seeker's mecca and one of the best places to shop in NYC. Locals will usually frequent the more out-the-way stores of SoHo to escape the flood of tourists uptown. Shop and lunch at this trendy part of town.

The Market | Williamsburg

Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this high-end flea market is unique shopping experience that is worth visiting for the sole attraction of something different. At The Market you'll find everything from local artists, to up-and-coming designers and vintage vendors of high end wares. Not your average big brown bag store, The Market is a place to go discover things, not find them.
