With its subtropical desert climate, Phoenix averages more than 100 days each year when the temperatures reach 100˚F. Many of these days occur from May until October. The normal low temperature hovers around 80˚F  for much of the summer months. Phoenix receives the most sunshine of any other city in the world -- about 300 days each year -- making it ideal for outdoor activities. The city averages about eight inches of precipitation each year.
