Fly to San Diego

To reach San Diego, visitors fly into the San Diego National Airport, which is just three miles from downtown. To reach the heart of the city, travelers can hail taxis or arrange a ride-share. They can also take advantage of public transportation from the airport, including the COASTER train, which also goes to Los Angeles and Orange County.


Getting Around San Diego

San Diego is a sprawling, spread out town. While downtown is walkable, to see all of the sites, travelers will need to take advantage of a set of wheels. The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (SDMTS) has three trolley lines that shuttle people throughout downtown and to neighboring areas. There are also 89 bus routes to take people out to suburban areas and popular local destinations such as San Diego State University and Santee.
