How To Get Around In Miami

Flying to Miami

This may be a given, but the best port of entrance into Miami is the Miami International Airport. You can also fly in through Fort. Lauderdale but it will a bit of a drive towards Miami City. Assuming you heed our advice and fly in through MIA, transportation to and from the airport should be relatively easy and inexpensive with the use of mobile ride sharing apps.

Getting Around Miami

Miami has a lot of places to see and visit. Someplace's are easily accessible by foot, bike or car while others may require renting a boat (see above). If you're staying in Miami beach or South Beach, traveling on foot is one of the best ways to get around. Strolling past all the high rise towers and beautiful sand beaches is one of the best ways to soak in the vibrant Miami culture. For those who book a hotel in South Beach there are also many great places to grab food or rent a bike to really take in the whole stretch of Miami beach.

Unless you plan on visiting several locations in the Miami area, there is no need to rent a car. With the introduction of Uber and Lyft Miami has become incredibly easy to get around in. Grab a ride across town for a meal or on your way out to the many pop-up parties around Miami. If technology isn't your thing, or you are just too loyal, you can still grab a cab that will be able to shuttle you around.
