There are many unique neighborhoods in the Washington D.C area that boasts their own style, character, and history. Here are a few of the most popular and some reasons why people are so attracted to them:

Mount Pleasant

Named one of the hottest neighborhoods in the U.S in 2016, Mount Pleasant is located within walking distance of the Metro stops, is family-friendly, backs up to Rock Creek Park, and is zoned for the best schools in the D.C. area. The neighborhood is lined with rowhouses with warm and inviting front porches and the business district is charming with brick storefronts and apartment buildings.

Ballston

Ballston is home to many of the area’s major employers like Marymount University, the National Science Foundation, and Virginia Tech. Midcentury homes with large yards line the side streets and there has been a redevelopment in recent years, including several luxury apartment buildings to help attract the millennial crowd to this up and coming neighborhood.

Trinidad

This fast-changing neighborhood is going through a major renovation and is the place to get into now. Conveniently located, Trinidad offers a five-minute stroll to area bars and restaurants, close proximity to Union Market, and is located near the light rail system stops. Unique 1920’s rowhouses line the streets and a diverse community enjoy this neighborhood.

Shaw

Known as the new trendiest neighborhood in the Washington, D.C area, Shaw has a distinct character all its own and is definitely the place to be with easy access to tons of restaurants and condos in the neighborhood and a hip, down-to-earth vibe. There is a well-established commercial corridor, modern, luxury buildings for the hipsters, and a great mix of people from gay couples, to young families, and elderly folks.
