Miami Attractions

Miami is a beautiful city, blessed with beaches, a bustling social scene and an array of iconic landmarks. So get out your camera and get ready to do some sightseeing.

Sightseeing in Miami

Miami Beach | Miami Beach

You can't skip the beach, the word alone is synonymous with Miami's most popular attractions. The famous Miami Beach was once considered the Riviera of 1950's America. Known for its all-inclusive hotels, and as the rat-pack stomping ground for infamous mobsters like Al Capone, Miami Beach is a bastion of chic Hollywood lifestyle. And that same vintage Floridian style still abounds today. Visit the beach, embrace the nostalgic pastel buildings and neon signs, and check out the world-class hotels and miles of white sand shores.

Lincoln Road | Miami Beach

The famous Miami shopping street was at some point called the “Fifth Avenue of the South,” and while that may be a stretch, this outdoor venue is without a doubt an enviable upscale shopping experience. Surrounded by a dizzying number of cafes, lounges, restaurants and art galleries (Romero Britto’s is one), you'll find plenty to do even if you're not shopping. The famed street is a major Miami landmark and a great spot for walking around and getting a feel for the local life.

South Beach | South Beach

Because this is Miami and the beaches are endless, you can't miss it's most popular strip of Beach. The South Beach shores are a must see for tourists to the city, and an equally appealing spot for locals as well. Spend a day soaking up the sun and placidly melting away onto the soothing white sand and ocean waves. When you've done, browse the rest of the South Beach area to find some of Miami's most popular landmarks.

Art Deco District | South Beach

Located amidst the glamorous, bustling social scene of South Beach, the Art Deco District is the largest concentration of Art Deco architecture in the world. This impressive bank of architectural gems is alive with wonderfully restored 1930s Art Deco buildings, pastel-colored homes, unique design, and a startling character that exudes the overarching charm of the South Beach area. The Art Deco District is an essential sightseeing spot for anyone visiting Miami.

Ocean Drive | South Beach

You'll find it easy to step away from the Art Deco District and onto the famous Ocean Drive in Miami. Most popularly known for the stretch of road that runs along the oceanfront in Miami Beach, passing the historic Art Deco buildings and South Beach, Ocean Drive is a great sightseeing drive. Besides scenic views, this landmark street offers a great option for those that prefer a quick drive-by to a long afternoon stroll through the most touristy areas of South Beach. Either way, we recommend driving by in the afternoon and catching the last wisps of sun rays as they wane away, furiously romantic, on the Floridian coast.

Wynwood Walls | Wynwood

The Wynwood walls are located in an open-air park dedicated to cutting-edge contemporary urban murals and astounding local art. The best way to visit the walls is on foot, during the morning or afternoon hours when the sun is more forgiving. Walk the park and explore the funky warehouse zone of Wynwood, now full of art galleries, gastro pubs, and lounge bars. All of which are accessible to anyone on the second Saturday of the month during Art Walk. If you get lucky, you'll find Galleries hosting live bands and open bars.

Calle Ocho | Little Havana

Explore the culturally explosive Calle Ocho and get your fill of Cuban traditions, art, music, food, coffee...it goes on. Be sure to specifically ask for "café con leche," steamed milk with a shot of Cuban coffee, or a cortadito, a tiny shot of super sweet Cuban coffee. You'll also find that the famed street is lined with fruit stands, art galleries, Cuban restaurants, and cigar shops. If you work up an appetite, try some ice cream at the locally favorited Azucar Ice Cream.

Bayside Marketplace | Byscayne Bay

This outdoor style mall is packed with boutique stores, cafes, restaurants, and live entertainment. A great area to just shop around and soak up the atmosphere, Bayside Marketplace sits right along the Miami waterfront and overlooks walkable docks and moored boats. Additionally, you'll find boat tours to other popular tourist locations around Biscayne bay, as well as a water taxi service to Miami Beach and Downtown Miami.

American Airlines Arena | Downtown Miami

Home to the NBA team Miami Heat, the massive arena is also a major concert venue hosting popular artists and numerous events throughout the year. Located on Downtown's waterfront area, the structure was awarded the Leed Green Building Certification for being an energy-efficient building and is a popular sightseeing spot.

Zoo Miami | Miami

The largest and oldest zoological garden in Florida, Zoo Miami houses more than 2,000 wild animals in a cageless environment that provide animals with a more seemingly natural habitat. The large open-air exhibits lend the zoo a safari-like feel, where visitors can closely admire a plethora of exotic and endangered wildlife from a safe distance. The Zoo is also relatively small and easy to see during a day's visit. Particularly popular among families, Zoo Miami offers plenty of interaction with the animals, and a children's zoo with a number of attractions, like camel rides and duck feeding.
